Key Concepts
This section explains various important abbreviations and concepts you might need while using the Unified Odds Feed (UOF).
Please note that this is a compilation of general concepts that don't relate to other sections i.e. definitions related to the individual sections can be found in their respective section pages say markets definition/concepts are found in the markets section.
The following are some basic UOF-related concepts.
Unified Odds Feed
Unified Odds Feed (UOF), is Betradar's odds delivery platform that distributes/sends odds data to our customers via AMQP (XML messages) and Sports API (additional match information). The Unified Odds Feed will provide data for Live Odds, Pre-match betting, and Virtual Sports via a single XML feed.
XML Feed
eXtensible Markup Language (XML), defines a set of rules for encoding information in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. This is used to transmit data between different platforms. Due to flexibility in customization, our customers can handle and create their own configurations and IT solutions.
The communication between the Betradar system and the client system is done by exchanging messages in XML format.
SDK
Software Development Kit (SDK) is a set of software development tools that allow the creation of applications for a certain software package.
Unified Odds Feed SDK is a client library that integrates with the Unified Odds Feed and allows customers to parse the feed. It also processes messages received from the AMQP broker.
AMQP
Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP) is supported by RabbitMQ to receive messages from the Unified Odds Feed. The purpose of UOFF RabbitMQ is to ensure fast and reliable delivery of UOF messages from all odds producers.
The Unified Odds Feed uses AMQ protocol to send messages to the client.
API
UOF API contains all the Unified Odds Feed's endpoints and allows customers to get detailed information about the sports events such as matches, tournaments, or seasons.
UOF Sports API: Provides sports data to bookmakers i.e. information about sports, tournaments and fixtures that we currently cover in our Unified Odds Feed product. This also include information about competitors, players and venues those events are played on.
UOF Probabilities API: provides the current probabilities for Unified Feed Live Odds markets. With that information bookmakers can offer punters to cash-out a market before it is settled. We send outcome probabilities and a hint if outcomes are safe to cash-out.
